Why Leveling Matters
Functional Systems
Many RV systems (refrigerators, water tanks, plumbing) are designed to work optimally when the vehicle is level. An uneven RV may cause leaks, poor refrigeration, or inefficient water flow.
Comfort
Sleeping in an uneven bed or cooking on an unlevel stove is uncomfortable. Leveling makes the space feel like home.
Stability
A properly leveled RV helps prevent rocking or swaying, especially in wind or when walking inside.
Prevent Wear
Prolongs the lifespan of leveling jacks, suspension, and other mechanical parts.
Tools You'll Need
Leveling Blocks or Ramps
Placed under tires to raise one side of the RV.
Smartphone with Level RV
Once calibrated ("zeroed"), it can be placed anywhere — unlike bubble levels, which must sit on the RV's floor or countertop.
Leveling Jacks
Hydraulic or manual, if equipped — raise the RV when parked on uneven ground.
Wheel Chocks
Secure the RV in place to prevent movement while leveling.

Park Your RV
Find a flat, solid surface. Slightly uneven is fine — you'll adjust using leveling blocks.

Check Position With the App
Place your phone where it won't shift; check side-to-side and front-to-back with Level RV.

Adjust With Leveling Blocks
Place blocks under tires as needed, checking the app for guidance as you go.

Drive Slowly Onto the Blocks
Move slowly and monitor the level throughout the process.

Adjust Front-to-Back Leveling
Use blocks or jacks to raise the front or rear as needed.

Use Leveling Jacks (If Equipped)
Raise or lower each corner slightly until perfectly level, then engage jacks to stabilize.

Double-Check With the Level
Confirm balance both side-to-side and front-to-back.

Secure With Wheel Chocks
Prevent unintended movement, especially on soft or inclined surfaces.

Goal: reach ~0° level. ±1° usually feels perfectly level. Use two-stage leveling — rough leveling for a quick adjustment, then fine leveling for precise correction.
For added stability, some RVs have additional stabilizers. Use these if available — they prevent the RV from rocking when people walk inside or when the wind blows.
